8 Days/ 7 Nights

Day 1

In the morning meeting in Irkutsk at the airport or at railway station. Transfer to the town of Irkutsk. A city sightseeing tour (duration of 4 hours): visits to the main sight – the place of city’s foundation, Church of thr Saviour, Embankment of Angara River, Karl Marx Street, historical quarter. After the dinner transfer to Listvyanka (70 km from Irkutsk). Accommodation at the hotel***, time at leisure, overnight.

Day 2

After breakfast an excursion along Baikal Lake (duration of 6 hours): Baikal museum, rise by cableway at Stone Chersky (returning by foot, distance – 1.7 km), the exhibition “An interactive dive to the bottom of the the lake”, Limrological aquarium, stop at the viewing platform at the Shaman Stone, visit to fish market and nerpinary. Overnight.

Day 3

After breakfast the Excursion to the architectural-etghnographic museum of wooden architecture in the open air “Taltsy” (20 km from Listvyanka). A promenade by boat across Lake Baikal. Overnight.

Day 4

After breakfast a full-day tour to Arshan (duration og 14 hours). The “Arshan” means a mineral water resource, a visit to Buddhist Temple, you walk up to Kungarga river (“Drum River” in Buryat, to its first waterfall? Shopping at the local market where you can buy local Mongolian products. Return to the hotel, overnight.

Day 5

After breakfast the cruise along Lake Baikal and Circum-Baikal Railway tour (duration of 7 hours). In includes the monuments of engineering art (tunnels and galleries, bridges and viaducts, retaining walls) and monuments of architecture. During the tour a walking excursion to abandoned tunnels, galleries of the beginning of the XX century, the route runs along the shore of the lake with extremely gorgeous nature. Return to the hotel, overnight.

Day 6

In the early morning the full-day tour by motor boat “ The Small Sea and Olkhon island” (duration of 15 hours). The programme includes: a early breakfast, Khuzhir, the Shamanka or Shaman’s Rock. Natives believe that Burkhan – a modern religious cult figure of the Altai peoples, lives in the cove in this rock. The rock is one of nine of Asian most sacred places. Olkhon is considered a centre of Kurumchinskaya culture of 6th-10th centuries. The museum at Olkhon named after Revyakin exposits on the nature and ethnography of the island including pipe-smoking and a samovar collection. Return to the hotel, overnight.

Day 7

After breakfast time at leisure. Possible some optional excursions: visit to Bukhta Peschanaya (Sandy Bay), active horse riding tour, visit to fish and souvenir shops. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 8

After breakfast transfer to the airport or railway station of Irkutsk
