The bay Peschanaya - one of the most known and picturesque places on Lake Baikal - doesn't leave anybody indifferent. The name the Baikal Riviera thanks to her soft microclimate and a large number of sunny days in a year, same, as in resorts of the Black Sea coast was assigned to a bay. 

This only place in Eastern Siberia where average annual air temperature is positive (+0,4 °C). For comparison – in Irkutsk:-0,9 °C. Temperature here reaches in the summer +30 °C. In July-August transparent water of a bay gets warm up to the temperatures, comfortable for bathing: 14 — 22 °C. Pure sandy beaches in the bay Peschanaya and Babushka are attractive to beach suntan. The bay Peschanaya or as it is often called, the Peschanka is located in the southern part of the western coast of Baikal, approximately in 75 km on a straight line to the northeast from a source of Angara, in 35 km to the north from the settlement Bolshoe  Goloustnoye and in 86 kilometers to the South from the village of Buguldeyka. The bay is in the territory of Baikal National Park. Since 1981 the Peschanka has the status of the state landscape nature monument.
